Moniker.com brokered the sale of Slots.com for a whopping $5.5 million, this sale tops the YTD sales list by a longshot. Also, Dating.com recently sold at DomainFest in FT. Lauderdale, Florida for $1.75 million. Jeans.com , WiFi.com , Safety.com and CommunityCollege.com are all names that will be added to th DomainFest extended auction that ends on May 20th. I should note that there was a $2 million offer on Jeans.com by phone last week but the offer was declined.
Dating.com is a great name but it seems like Internet is already saturated with dating and matchmaking type of sites, would not be an easy startup at this point IMO. Slots.com at $5.5 mil is huge and there are lots of people scratching their heads wondering why so much for this name? Well, you do know that slot machines make casinos more money than any other form of gambling in their venues right..?
