ICM releases 1,000 generic .XXX for Sale and Cognac Sells for $140,000

ICM Registry announced today that they have over 1,000 premium generic keyword domain names for sale. The domain names are available on a first come first served basis. ICM is hoping to raise over $7.7 million from the sale of these domains. Some of the domains available for sale include boobs.xxx, bbw.xxx, facials.xxx, and voyeur.xxx. You can see the complete list of available domains on the ICM Registry website. The release of these generic domain names follows the earlier sale of the domains Gay.xxx for $500,000, and Fetish.xxx for $300,000.

Buy a Premium .XXX domain and get the .Sex, .Porn, and .Adult domains for free

Stuart Lawley, the CEO of ICM, which is the operator of .XXX registry has made a statement that every one of the 1,000 premium generic keyword domains released today will come with the .Sex, .Porn, and .Adult domains for free. ICM has not yet obtained the rights to .Sex, .Porn, and .Adult although they have placed an application with ICANN. ICM is the only applicant for .Porn, and .Adult, but there is at least one more applicant for the .Sex gTLD. The Government Advisory Counsel is expected to raise many objections before ICANN so there is no guarantee that these TLD will be approved at all.

Cognac.com sells for $140,000

Weblabcenter out of Dallas, has sold the domain Cognac.com for $140,000. Weblabcenter bought the domain in 2008 at Sedo GreatDomains auction for $88,000. The new owner of the domain is being kept anonymous by Moniker’s privacy service. The Cognac.com domain was first registered in 1997.

Three-letter domains do well this week

Truaxe Holdings Inc. purchased LHN.com in a private sale for $80,000. Truaxe bought the site to serve as a shortcut to their website LookHotNaked.com that will be launched in the Spring of 2013. ZTS.com was another large three letter domain sale this week with a sale on Sedo for $15,000. The Chinese country code domain XHD.cn sold on Sedo this week for $15,000 as well. Another big Sedo three letter domain sale this week was RIA.biz for $10,320.

Sallie Mae, the student loan company purchased StudentOutreach.com for $3,769.

Cambridge Public Libraries and Galleries purchased IdeaExchange.org for $1,688.

Display Products, Inc., a tradeshow display company, purchased the domain FabricExhibits.com for $1,477.

Worldvox Corp, a telecom company, purchased InternationalCalls.net for $4,388.

Auburn University at Montgomery purchased the domain Warhawks.com for $1,695.

TravelOakland.com was purchased for $2,995 by the Oakland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
